Songwriters: Feloney Davis, Euclid Gray and Monica Gray
R&B Peak Position: #4
"Yippie-yi-yo yippie-yi/ Wanna bump your body baby..."
Six years after being booted out as the supporting singing/ dancing team behind R. Kelly (they were sorta like the Pips to Kelly's Gladys), Public Announcement made an unexpected return as a stand-alone unit, this time led by Chicago singer Feloney Davis. This move could of led to some pitiful results, but things actually started off quite well for the vocal quartet due to their first single "Body Bumpin'", a slightly goofy midtempo remembered for a chorus and music video choreography that attempted to inject some rodeo flavor into a R&B sex jam.
With a title like "Body Bumpin'" and lyrics that encouraged making love on the dance floor long before Usher thought it was a good idea, it was clear that PA hadn't at all deviated from the same type of subject matter of their Born Into the '90's days. Was it a subtle knock against their former frontman, showing that they could prosper without him? Perhaps, perhaps not, but the record surely made them (temporary) competition for other late '90's male groups like 112, Next and Jagged Edge who were all hoping to succeed Jodeci and Boyz II Man as the choice R&B boy band for the new millennium.
Best Moment: The dancing!!
DL: "Body Bumpin' (Yippie-Yi-Yo)" (YFH)
Who remembers the remix?:

Ah, one of my guilty pleasure songs, thanks for sharing!
I still have the tape single (cardboard sleeve and all) of this. Thanks for taking us back to this.
Any way you can re-up the zShare link? It doesn't let you download or listen to it anymore... It would be GREATLY appreciated as I've been searching for this song for a week!
